Tap to parry
Tap as the shot reaches you. A fresh, gold sword sends it straight back at the boss: that is a Perfect. Tap too early and the sword turns blue: you still block, but lose a little heart and nothing flies back.
How to play
Parry is polite: he never strikes first. His sword only sends back what comes at him. Here is everything you need for your first chapters.
Tap as the shot reaches you. A fresh, gold sword sends it straight back at the boss: that is a Perfect. Tap too early and the sword turns blue: you still block, but lose a little heart and nothing flies back.
In Auto mode every return flies at the boss, you only time it. In Manual mode, drag sideways to tilt the guard and lift to lock the angle, so you can bank shots off pillars and walls.
Swipe left or right to knock a shot or a creep away to that side. Some enemies can only be beaten from the side.
A red ring sweeping the floor cannot be parried. Jump when it is close, not too early.
Every Perfect fills the boss's posture bar. When it is full the boss is stunned: tap fast to slash it. Bosses also bounce to the music, and that bounce is when a shot leaves.
Beat colored creeps and pick one of three buffs. The creep's color tells you the family: heal, sword, counter or break.
As the fight goes on you get to choose a card that bends the rules in your favor for the rest of that match.
Pillars on the field bounce your returns and change them on the way. A banked shot still counts.
Win to clear a stage. Take fewer hits, and sometimes finish faster, for more stars. Nothing is ever locked behind three stars.
A roguelite climb: pick a temporary power-up after each floor, lose once and the run is over. Upgrades and skin bonuses are off in there, so it is pure skill. Climb high for the weekly race podium.
