Bosses

Fifty villains,
zero chill

Each chapter ends with its own boss, holding one bit of the Balance Blade. They are toys, snacks and household things, and every one has a habit and a trick. Here are the first ten. The rest you meet on the road.

Countryside Chapter 1-5

Chapter 1 · Strawtown

King Cube

Calls himself king of everything, including things that are not his.

Hint The blocks he drops make handy walls to bank shots off.

Chapter 2 · Royal Kitchen

Big Bro Bun

Lazy. Insists on finishing lunch before any fight.

Hint When he puffs up, ordinary shots bounce off. Wait for a heavy one.

Chapter 3 · Grumpshroom Wood

Zippy Voltbunny

Always in a hurry, never finishes a sentence.

Hint Shots on one wire: one clean parry sends the whole charge back.

Chapter 4 · Karaoke Frog Swamp

Mirror McSelfie

Asks the mirror who is fairest, then answers herself.

Hint Only one reflection is real, and glass only flies back on a Perfect.

Chapter 5 · Lazy Coal Mine

Landlady Rentz

Charges a fee just for walking past.

Hint Bills stick beside you. Tear them off before the due date.

Castle Chapter 6-10

Chapter 6 · Intern Wizard Tower

Dumpling Twins

Two of them, forever arguing about who is who.

Hint Listen to one side's rhythm. The other side answers with the same.

Chapter 7 · Cheerful Graveyard

Fully Insured Turtle

Reads the contract three times before every fight.

Hint The front shell eats straight shots. Bank around it, or wait for a peek.

Chapter 8 · Shush Library

Intern Rune Wizard

A bookworm who often holds the book upside down.

Hint He copies you. Repeat yourself too often and he will mimic it.

Chapter 9 · Goblin Bazaar

Snoozy Alarm Clock

Rings at the wrong time, then dozes off mid-fight.

Hint Tick from one side, tock from the other. When it nods off, hit back.

Chapter 10 · Dozing King Castle
